I was on the edge of my seat through this whole post as if I didn't know how it was going to end. Thank you for the story, and for a close-up view of the experience that I haven't heard very often. I have not been reading the right books, perhaps, but also how much your personality determined the details of it made it easier to put myself a little bit in your place.
Just reading about the 20 minute bath filled me with dread, lol. I remember my baby would ALWAYS start to cry the second I stepped into the tub! I still hear it when I'm in the shower, nearly 8 years later. Lovely post as usual! You did that!!
Happy birthday and birth day indeed. We call it 'gas and air' where I am, and I have never felt more away with the fairies than I did when huffing on it during the birth of my children. Excellent stuff.
Also, "and I’m nothing if not a people-pleasing little bitch" really made me, a fellow people pleasing little bitch, laugh. (But did I laugh just to please you? THE PLOT THICKENS)
